Carbon Market
- The Prototype Carbon Fund was established by the World Bank in 2000.
- The financial industry is represented by the International Carbon Investors and Servises ( INCIS ). A group that promotes the development of emissions markets.
- The Carbon market is estimated to be worth US$ 30 billion in 2006 (with US$25 billion from ETS). By 2010 it is projected to grow to US$100 billion.
- By 2020 the market would have reached US$500 - 1,000 billion.
- In 2007 carbon is being traded at around Euro 20 per ton / CO2 (ETS).
